Shared Ride Pricing

Shared ride fares are calculated based on the trip distance and split equally among matched riders. A $5 per person coordination fee applies to shared rides to cover the additional time and distance required for multiple pickups and drop-offs.

Bidirectional Matching — How It Works

Here's something unique about Aggie RideMatch: we match rides both directions on the same day. For example:

Example A — Same Direction

Three students all need to get from College Station to Houston on Saturday. We pick all three up, drop them off, and split the fare three ways.

Example B — Round Trip Match

One student needs to go to Houston, another needs to return to College Station from Houston. We do both in one trip — each person pays half the fare for their leg.

Maximum 3 riders per direction. All pickups, drop-offs, and logistics are coordinated by us — you just show up.

Your Privacy & Safety

Unlike Facebook rideshare groups or peer-to-peer apps, matched riders never see each other's contact information. All coordination goes through Aggieland Car Service. You'll know your ride is shared — but we handle all the logistics. You're never put in the position of coordinating directly with a stranger.

Posting a trip does not guarantee a match. We do our best to pair you with a compatible rider going your direction, but availability depends on other riders posting the same route and date. Shared rides are limited to a maximum of 3 riders per direction. If no match is found by your travel date, you're always welcome to book a private ride instead.
